What is division

The division is a method of splitting a group of things into equal parts. The division is an arithmetic operation inverse of multiplication

It is one of the four basic operation of arithmetic calculation others being addition,subtraction,multiplication

The division of two natural numbers means it is the operation of calculating the number of times one number is contained within one another

Program to division of two  floating point  numbers

Program 1

In this program, the user initialize two floating point numbers using two float variables and then the program calculates the division of the given numbers  using division operator in Python language

#Python program to divide two floating point numbers
num1=34.44
#declare and initialize variable num 1
num2=4.2
#declare and initialize variable num 2

division=num1/num2;
#Calculate the divition and the result is assigned the variable division

print("The division of {0} and {1} is: {2}".format(num1,num2,division))
#display the output on the screen

When the above code is executed, it produces the following result

The division of 34.44 and 4.2 is: 8.2

Program to division of two  floating point  numbers – Entered by user

The program allows the user to enter two floating point numbers and then it calculates the division of the given numbers using the  division operator  in Python language

Program 2

#Python program to divide two float numbers
num1=input("Enter the first number: ")
#ask input from the user and it store in num1 variable
num2=input("Enter the second number: ")
#ask input from the user and store in num2 variable

div=num1/num2;
#Calculate the divition and the result is assigned the variable div

print("The division of {0} and {1} is: {2}".format(num1,num2,div))
#display the output on the screen

When the above code is executed, it produces the following result

Enter the first number: 51.66
Enter the second number: 4.2
The division of 51.66 and 4.2 is: 12.3
