C# | How to Convert Fahrenheit into Celsius

C# | How to Convert Fahrenheit into Celsius

In this tutorial, we will discuss the concept of the“C# | How to Convert Fahrenheit into Celsius”.

In this post, we will learn how to write a program to convert Fahrenheit into Celsius using the scientific equations in C# programming language with an Example program.

Temperature and conversion

Conversion equation

Generally, We have known three types of temperature units Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Kelvin. In this article, we are discussing how to convert temperature units Fahrenheit into Celsius. Fahrenheit and Celsius are the measuring units in degrees as 0F and 0C  respectively.

Scientific equation Celsius = (Fahrenheit-32)*9/5

Code to Fahrenheit to Celsius

Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius

In this program, the user declares and initializes a double variable Fahrenheit as 98.4. It will be converted into Celsius, using the scientific equation in the C# programming language.

Program 1

// C# program to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius
using System;
namespace temperature
{
public class FtoC
{
    public static void Main(string[] args)
    {
        double celsius,fahrenheit;
        fahrenheit=98.40;
        celsius=((fahrenheit-32)*5/9);
        Console.WriteLine ("The temperature in Celsius: "+celsius);
        Console.ReadKey();
    }
}
}

When the above code is executed, it produces the following result

The temperature in Celsius: 36.8888888888889

Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius – Entered by user

In this program, the user declares the variable as Double, then the user is asked to enter a double value to Fahrenheit. The entered value will be converted into Celsius, using the scientific equation in the C# programming language.

Program 2

// C# program to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius
//Entered by user
using System;
namespace temperature
{
public class FtoC
{
    public static void Main(string[] args)
    {
        double celsius,fahrenheit;
        Console.WriteLine ("Enter temperature in Fahrenheit: ");
        fahrenheit=Convert.ToDouble(Console.ReadLine());
        celsius=((fahrenheit-32)*5/9);
        Console.WriteLine ("The temperature in Celsius: "+celsius);
        Console.ReadKey();
    }
}
}

When the above code is executed, it produces the following result

Enter temperature in Fahrenheit:
210.00
The temperature in Celsius: 98.8888888888889
